Feature Suggestion: Would it be possible for user to selectively not install or, failing that, switch off /disable unused Lightroom modules, please? Would it not help make the program leaner and/or quicker? For example, I have no need for Books and Slideshow modules and, given the choice, would like to tailor my installation to not include them. Lightroom is a great product, but I think many users would like to see a period of consolidation, whereby speed in day to day use, especially in the Develop module, is improved and the GPU use implemented more effectively, rather than adding more features to a program which has become increasingly bloated over time. This meets your request to hide modules for making the program quicker to learn. As for removing features, I suspect Adobe would be a little cagey about that given the recent Import removal debacle.

Also, from a programmer’s perspective, having those extra modules available is unlikely to cause any noticeable performance losses, as they are only active when you select the module. One of the benefits of the module based design rather than everything accessible at once.
