Amazing really, the soundcard is over 10 years old, I think.

Now it's my sound card that isn't being detected, which sadly enough I can't memorize like I could with the video card. I need to be able to download the sound driver, like I did with the video driver, in order for my computer to detect my sound card. There must be some way I can get this detected without having to open up my computer and look inside at the sound card itself. If you don't have the CD you will have to download the realtek AC 97 drivers from the internet and hope you get the correct ones.

If it has a dedicated card you need to remove it and identify it. Restart your computer without the card and download the drivers for it from the cards support website to your desktop.
