() Author Message Jaye Barnes-Luckett (unregistered) Subject: RP-10 - familiar problem? Howdy, one and all: I'm a little distressed this morning as I just bought an RP-10 about a month ago, and it worked beautifully (me figuring out the details of the manual I just found are another story). However, it seems to have died and I'm wondering if someone out there recognizes the 'symptoms' and whether or not I need to do something simple like buying a battery, need to take it to repair, or if it means the pedal might as well be kissed goodbye.: 1. The unit's 'Welcome to the Digitech RP-10.'

Scrolling message appears but, much more faint than usual. Nothing else comes up until I push a parameter button or a pedal - Then there are error messages like 'Parameter not found' in the LCD screen and in the patch number screen a '222' sometimes appears. Other times, nothing pops up in the LCD screen except black boxes and weird symbols. I can't try any reset techniques or anything because I keep getting these errors. I'm getting no sound whatsoever.

When I first discovered the problem, the pedal and adapter were very hot. They had been on for maybe two hours. I then unplugged them both and let them cool all night, but when I tried again this morning, I had the same problem with all the errors.

I'm hoping someone out there either in support or a user might recognize a familiar story and be able to tell me how to proceed. I have shows coming up next month and cannot afford newer pedals before then. I'm just hoping this is something that can possibly be fixed. I appreciate any help you can give. - Jaye Nate (unregistered) Subject: Re: RP-10 - familiar problem? This is similar to what just happened to my RP-10 last week.

I just plugged it in one night and I started getting error messages after the 'Welcome.' Things like 'E22 bad register' or bad memory or something, and the errors change if I hit any button. I don't remember the details, but it sounds somewhat like this other problem. Hopefully it's not fried, since I've never backed up my custom sounds! Any suggestions at all would be very much appreciated! Thanks, Nate vivaknievel (unregistered) Subject: Re: RP-10 - familiar problem?

Yeah, it sounds like you have the same exact problem as me. I have another forum and a kid just came in there with the same exact problem, so obviously, it's not something any of us have done to the pedal. It's a malfunction of the pedal itself. I've tried resetting but it won't help at all.

Well, since no one at Digitech will reply to us with any info whatsoever, it seems all we can do is put it in the shop. So much for customer support! Here, at the Digitech site, look under the link Contact Info. Then go to 'Service Centers'. You'll plug in your zip code and it will bring up the address and number of a service center near you where I presume you could send your pedal for repair.

There's not very many of us at the moment, but if in the future you get your pedal back up and running (and assuming we do too). We have a forum for RP-10s. And I guarantee, no message will go unanswered, if I can find an answer for it. - Jaye Jaye Barnes-Luckett (unregistered) Subject: Possible Solution to RP-10 Problem Someone contacted me through the RP-10 Group at Yahoo!
