Hi:) I'm trying to find a source for a chip resetter or new chips for carts from my Dell 3110cn or 3115cn. Toner for this printer was easy to find as it uses the same as the 3100cn. But, the chips are completely different. There is a 'Non-Dell Toner' setting which does not increment the page count on the chips, allowing me to use the refilled toner, but the LCD no longer shows me the amount of toner left in the cart. (Note: If you use this setting, I hear you must turn it on before the cart runs dry. Otherwise, the cart could self-destruct.) I am pretty certain that this printer is a rebranded Xerox Phaser 6180. In spite of the slightly different specs, the printers look near-identical.

But, I have found even less information on this printer. I found information on resetting the chips for a Samsung printer. The 3110cn/3115cn carts have three conductors, just like the Samsung, so it is possible that this method may work - I'll try it when I get back to the office. In the meantime, if anyone has any suggestions, or has actually done this before, I'd appreciate hearing about it. Mango2 This probably isn't what you want to hear, but over here in the UK, my teckie friend and I tried for hours to get around the chips. Unfortunately without success.

Also, with this European version of the machine, we cannot print anything more with the 'empty' cartridge. The machine just refuses to budge until we presumably shell out for some original cartridges.

We're holding out for compatible chips to become available. Also, have you actually tried the 3100cn toner in the 3110cn - and printed a substantial amount with this toner? I was led to believe this is unlikely to work. I just wrote this entire thing out and somehow the site ate it.

Ok, here we go again. Colgado, I'm sorry to hear you haven't been able to get around the chips, but at least I know I'm not alone! I have indeed tried the 3100cn toner in the 3110cn.
